We are Ema Bovary: phenomenological analysis for a possible existence

The aim of this work was to analyze, by the phenomenological psychopathology point of view, the character Ema Bovary, based on the detailed description provided by Gustave Flaubert (1821 – 1880) in the romance Madame Bovary (1857). The main references of such analyze were the concepts of Own World and Shared World, proposed by Ludwig Binswanger (1957); and the Three Forms of Failed (Frustrated) Existence – Exaltation (Indulgence), Eccentricity and Mannerism, also conceived by Binswanger (1972).
